Pros: exciting dancing and costumes, generally well acted and well sung Cons: a bit lacking in plot and originality
42nd Street isn't very original. Both the show within a show and small town girl makes good in the big city have been fodder for musicals for a very long time. This isn't the show to see if you want something new and different or intellectually ...

Pros: Fantastic, Spectacular, Classy, Fun, Energetic and Absolutely Mind-Blowing Cons: Not one.
Some people might say I'm a weird person -- very hard to classify. I love sports, and overall I hate going to movies.. but I love plays and musicals. Why do I hate going to movies? Well, because most large Hollywood movies (I've found) are dull,...

Pros: fabulous acting, tap numbers, the lighting Cons: some of the songs could be cut

Meet The Dancing Feet of 42nd Street
by Candice923 - Top 500,Aug 27 '04
Pros: familiar songs, fun show, AMAZING dancing, good singing Cons: not a very good script, some musical numbers are too long
42nd Street is an excellent example of Old Broadway. The dancing is fantastic, the singing is superb and the acting is great. The plot, however, is rather thin and somewhat pointless. Even the excellent costumes and sets can't make up for what the script is lacking. 42nd Street is certainly not the best show on Broadway, but something that your grandparents would love. Don't spend the $100 for tickets on this one. If you can get half-price tickets or less to 42nd Street, then, by all means, see this toe-tapping musical.
If you're going to see it, you have to see it soon! 42nd Street closes on January 2, 2005. Who knows when the next revival will be?
